“I’ve just bought an EV but my driveway is too far from the consumer unit.”
This is one of the most common issues we solve. During your free survey, we’ll assess cable routing options  including underground ducting to get power safely to a charger location that works for your driveway, even if it’s 15-20 metres from the house.

“My fuseboard looks old – can it even handle an EV charger?”
Many older Edenbridge properties have consumer units that predate modern load requirements. If your fuseboard can’t safely support a charger, we’ll recommend a fuseboard upgrade alongside the installation so everything is done safely in one visit, rather than discovering the problem halfway through a job.

“I want to charge overnight but worry about my electricity bill.”
A smart charger with app scheduling lets you set charging to off-peak hours automatically, often cutting your charging cost significantly compared with daytime rates. We’ll talk you through which tariffs and chargers pair well together.

“I rent my home – can I still get a charger installed?”
Yes, with landlord permission. We can liaise directly with letting agents or landlords to confirm consent and handle the technical side, including confirming the property’s electrical supply is suitable.

“The charger company quoted me, but didn’t mention certification.”
Always ask whether your installer provides an Electrical Installation Certificate and notifies the work under Part P where required – uncertified EV charger installations can cause issues with home insurance and resale. Every Switched On installation includes full certification as standard.
